Plauz, Plavz, Plavez, Plavec, Plautz of Doblice

Our family has traced it's family line back to John Plauz, born 1800 who lived in house number 35. Several of his siblings and the two generations before were known to have lived in house number 29, 30, and 39. I would like to have a descendant of house number 34 contact me. We have traced back from John to his father George and mother Anna Mayerle, and his father George and mother Ana Faborini. This takes us back to about 1760. I am wondering if the Plautz family in 34 is related to our family in 35 by way of being a brother to George, born about 1760, or maybe prior to that. Hvala lepa!

Brozovich, Maljevac

I am the granddaughter of Mihael Brozovic and I am interested in acquiring information regarding ancestors/descendants of Mihael Brozovic (Born March 13, 1882 in the village of Ucakovci, which lies close to Crnomelj, Slovenija. Came to the US in 1902). I have his birth certificate which shows his father (Jure) and mother (Ana Maljevac). I would like to trace the family history back from this point and would like the information on other brothers/sisters. Any information that could help with my research would be greatly appreciated. I only speak English. I have attached a copy of my grandfathers birth certificate.

An Invitation to join the Slovenian Genealogy soc.

George Plavec, Born 8 dec 1772 in Doblice, Crnomelj Parish married Ana Majerle. Ana Majerle was born around 1773. Her birthplace is unknown. One of their children was born 1 mar 1800. His name was Joannes/Janez Plauz, and he was born in Doblice 39. Later another brother was born by the name of Josephus on 11 jan 1811 in Doblice 30. Other siblings or the whereabouts of descendants of Josephus are unknown. Joannes married three times, living in Doblice 35 at the time of his first wife's death. Her name was Maria Sterk. She was born around 1802 and died 15 nov 1829 in Doblice 35. No other information is known about her. Joannes then married Ana Margaretha Brunskole. She was born 11 oct 1806 in Maverlen 9. She gave birth to three children that we are aware of. Janez who died at 4 years of age, Georgius Plavz, born 1837, and Joseph Plautz, born 1840. Georgius married Katarina Movrin (Maurin) from Gric 1. I have a history of the Maurins from Gric 1 beginning in 1774 to the present time. George and Kate were my great grandparents. Joseph(the other living brother) married Josefa Gerbec, and she bore seven children before her death in Red Jacket, Michigan. We do not know where Josefa was born or when. Ana Margaretha Brunskole died sometime around 1854 as Joannes married a third time in 1855 to a widow named Katerina Vertin Butala. She bore Joannes three children: Marija, Maria, and Janez. I have no details on what happened to these children. I am interested in connecting with other Majerle, Sterk, Maurin, and Plautz families to determine if their is a relationship with my families.  George J. Is anyone researching the name Pockaj.? His family is from "old Austria"about 40 miles from Trieste. Any help is greatly appreciated, as I have not found any of them that are related yet. I have found many Pockaj's, but they all claim to be full blooded Italian! My grandfathers name was Franc Pockaj, and his father also Franc, and mother Ursula, no maiden name known. Patty

Malic, Fabian, Mihelic, Ostronic, Kastelic

Hi, I am the great granddaughter of Adika Malic and Joseph Fabian. Joseph was born March 10, 1867 and, died 3 April 1925 in San Francisco, CA. He was the son of Jacob Fabian and Mary Benich. That is all that I know about him; is anyone researching this family? I presume that Joseph was born in Slovenia, but, I don't know for sure. I am also researching the Malic, Mihelic, Ostronic and Kastelic families, who seem to all be from around Vinica. Will be happy to hear from anyone with information on these families, too. Thank you, Shirlee Crow
