Anna Suhorepetz Strutzel of Otovec, Cernomelj...
I am looking for information about my maternal great grandmother, Anna Suhorepetz Strutzel. She was born in 1859 in the village of Otovec, District of Cernomelj, Provinca of Carniola, Austria and died on March 28, 1909 in Illinois (I think in Joliet). She came to America when she was 16 and married John (David) Strutzel, a farmer in Austria. I found their names on the 1880 Census from Clinton, IA. They had 12 children. John Strutzel worked for Illinois Steel Company and I think he later founded Strutzel Brothers Autos. Anna had two brothers, Joseph Suhorepetz and John Suhorepetz and a sister Mary Grahek. She is buried in St. Joseph's Cemetary in Joliet, Il. Any clues anybody? I would love to hear from you!
